Amid an ESPN report that J-Will is in serious discussions with Israeli-league team Tel Aviv, just received confirmation that there is indeed interest, but that a deal is not imminent.
But word out of Israel from at least one source familiar with Tel Aviv's negotiations is that Williams is seeking a deal with an annual salary of at least $3 million. The Israeli teams is thinking closer to $1.5, which is similar to any deal any NBA suitor might extend, including the Heat.
The Heat also expressed at least some interest in Francisco Elson, a 7-footer who played in Seattle but did his best work with the Spurs during their 2006-07 title run. But Elson's camp said it would probably take more than the $900,000 it has left of the mid-level or maybe even the mostly-league-funded veteran's minimum of $1.3 the Heat also would have at its disposal.
As for the Chicago Sun-Times' recent speculation about Wade joining the Bulls as a free agent in 2010, keep in mind that Wade has told confidants he particularly enjoys his hometown of Chicago as an offseason refuge because it takes him away from his NBA realities, something that wouldn't be the case playing for the Bulls.
The Bulls and Gordon's camp remain far apart. According to sources, the Bulls are offering an average salary in the $8 million to $9 million range, while Gordon is looking for something in the $12 million range. Deng's deal averages $11.8 million.

A Chicago cominciano già a sognare un Dwayne Wade free-agent nel 2010, come d'altronde, già da tempo, i Knicks sono la probabile destinazione di LeBron James tra due anni. I Bulls, dopo aver trovato l'accordo con Deng, ora vogliono chiudere anche la questione Ben Gordon, altro asso che potrebbe optare per l'Europa come lui stesso ha confermato: Paxson offre tra gli 8 e i 9 milioni, Gordon ne vuole 12. La sensazione è che le sorprese non mancheranno in questa vicenda. Chi, quasi sicuramente, partirà è Andres Nocioni, destinazione Sacramento, in una trade che comprenderebbe Brad Miller. Un'importante svolta si attende anche da Philadelphia, dove i 76ers, dopo aver ri-firmato Lou Williams, si concentreranno sul rinnovo di Iguodala, col progetto di consolidare la sua immagine di uomo-franchigia. Potrebbe intanto chiudersi la carriera di Dikembe Mutombo: i Rockets non sono intenzionati a svenarsi per rinnovare di un altro anno il contratto, inducendo così al pessimismo David Falk, agente del centro.
